The summer of 2021 was my first year gardening. I had wanted to start a garden for a few years and finally decided it was time to go all in and just go for it.
YouTube was my main resource for learning how to do all the things, from starting seeds to transplanting various veggies and caring for them as I watched them grow. You wouldn’t believe the excitement I felt when I got to harvest my first vegetable from a plant that I grew in my own backyard.
I had so much fun and learned so much this first year, including how often to water, which veggies to plant with other veggies, and learned just how big some of these veggies can get (which was something I highly underestimated).
I started my garden with grow boxes on my deck and quickly learned that the veggies I planted in them, such as cucumbers, were not going to thrive because there just wasn’t enough space for them to grow. So, I ventured out and bought my first raised garden bed. This quickly turned into multiple raised garden beds. When I ran out of space in those, I added grow bags to my deck.
I decided to create a website blog and YouTube channel to document my gardening journey and share my knowledge with others to help them learn and garden along with me.
This video of my first garden tour was recorded in August 2021, about three months into my gardening journey. Boy, how quickly the garden changes in just a few short months!
